First It Was Reagan, Now There's A Possibility It's Lynch: Is Hollywood Determined To Turn Out Their Own Truth?

http://www.NewsAndOpinion.com | You kind of wonder how far Hollywood plans to go, how many people they are willing to hurt and how much truth they are determined to distort to further their elite liberal agenda.

This past week we presumably discovered that CBS might be planning a hatchet job on former President Reagan. If the reports from those who haven't seen the entire film are true, the producers use inexact dialogue and actors hired whose personal views are not in keeping with the views of the persons they have been cast to depict.

Next up, on November 9, NBC plans to present their made for television film, "Saving Jessica Lynch," the supposed true story of the daring rescue of private Jessica Lynch by the heroic marines of Delta Force.

Now, not satisfied with probably tearing apart an ailing icon, will Hollywood may find it necessary to destroy a national war hero, if not the entire armed forces, and time it to air it while our men and women are still in harm's way? Could this be true. Maybe. Maybe not. That doesn't mean we should err on the side of our freedom to condemn what we don't know. It's our obligation as Americans.

Once again it is not necessary for real Americans to see this film to assume that the flaming liberals at the peacock network have possibly set out to create an anti-military, anti-Bush hack job.

Hard to believe? Is it hard to believe that the NBC top brass might have thought to shoot a scene contending that President Bush actually sent orders through the chain of command to create a false story of heroism that never took place? Whether they ever considered to insert that scene an NBC source who has seen the entire film told me that they didn't have that scene in the final shooting script which only goes to show you that they may have found their own possible partisan motives too objectionable for even them.

That's not all. What about a scene where Donald Rumsfeld confides to his assistant Secretary of Defense that the information Iraq's WMD that he gave to the President is probably false? That scene would be insulting to all Americans but if NBC puts that scene in will viewers believe it to be the truth?

How much more of this will the American public take before they scream cease and desist? We may never know all the misrepresentations if any that NBC attempted to get into this script but the NBC source who was involved in the making of "Saving Jessica Lynch" has confirmed that there had been scenes in the original script that were taken out, while some that weren't in the first draft were actually inserted in later revisions. There seems no doubt that NBC was never sure what version of their so-called truth they wanted to tell.

If the Hollywood elite ever considers to play with the truth in nonfiction film, how soon will it be before they begin playing with the truth in fiction? Believe me itís not that far from coming to fruition already. Itís about time we, as patriotic Americans, speak out in no uncertain terms that weíve had enough of this fakery in film and television. We can only hope that those who we trust to voice our displeasure about what we or they have yet to know for sure will step up to the plate and make it clear to NBC that they cannot continue to create whatever it is they may or may not created without being held accountable.

I for one may not be watching "Saving Jessica Lynch." If I want to watch fakery Iíll watch CNN.
