Dignity: Fallen Heroes as political fodder

http://www.NewsAndOpinion.com | SEE the flag-draped coffins, fallen heroes all,
But be gentle with your eyes,
For beneath the stars and stripes lie our broken hearts,
That can pay no greater price.

Beneath flags rest our honored,
Our sons,
Our daughters,
Our brave.

Their sacrifice is not meant for photo op,

Nor political grist.
Nor partisan battle,
For which they did not die.

For ultimate sacrifice does not surrender dignity.
That is deserved,
Demanded,
Decreed

We must let families grieve,
Without politics,
Without politicians,
Without campaign commercials desecrating their once brilliant stars.

Unless it's a Bush Twin Towers commercial, then all bets are off. (You might want to place link here to Bush commercial using a flag-draped coffin symbolizing a firefighter being carried out of the Twin Towers.)

Wonder if the Pentagon will allow us to photograph the irony.
