Wide Open Frisco! Come and Get it!

Monday, July 5th. The designated official holiday for the 4th of July. Some of our fellow Americans celebrated by going to the beach. Some had backyard barbeques. Some took car trips, visited their relatives, or just kicked back and watched TV. And some used their day off to go out and loot stores in San Francisco. Isn't this country wonderful?

Thank you progressive Democrats! Thank you Nancy Pelosi! Thank you President Biden! Thanks to liberal laws and the dehumanizing and vilification of the police, San Francisco once a beautiful city, has turned into a crap hole. Literally. Besides the streets being littered with feces, needles, and dangerous and crazy street people, it's open season for looters.

Just before 6 p.m., in broad daylight, a group of about 10 thieves were seen on video Monday ransacking the prestigious Neiman Marcus store in San Francisco's Union Square. The looters smashed display cases, snatched handbags and other expensive merchandise, then bolted out of the building before police arrived on the scene.

The crooks were seen running out of the store with their hands full of merchandise, jumping into a getaway car and took off down a busy intersection. In the video a police officer can be seen standing outside videotaping the entire event, from the time the thieves ran out of the store and went down the block. Don't blame the cop, I'm sure he's under orders not to do anything to stop them.

Interestingly, the glass doors that the crooks ran out of were printed with "Masks are optional for fully vaccinated customers & associates while in our stores." The thieves opted to wear masks so I guess they were not yet vaccinated. Now isn't that considerate? I just love hoodlums that care about their fellow citizens. And in case you're wondering, no, the San Francisco Police Department has not made any arrests in connection to the robbery. But don't worry, they're on it "analyzing videos and speaking with witnesses" as I write this.

This is just the latest in a long line of open looting incidences in San Francisco. You might recall that last month a man was caught on video riding into a drugstore on his bicycle, filling a large garbage bag with what appeared to be personal care products before jumping back on his bike and leaving the store. A security guard, who was recording the incident, tried to grab the individual as he was going out, but couldn't hold on to him. The guy just happily peddled off.

Walgreens has totally closed 17 of its stores in San Francisco and the surrounding area in the past five years. Thefts in that area are four times more likely than anywhere else in the country. Target stores in the city have decided to limit business hours in response to increased looting. Customers used to be able to shop until 10 p.m. but no more. Shoppers only have until 6 p.m. to make purchases. "For more than a month, we've been experiencing a significant and alarming rise in theft and security incidents at our San Francisco stores," a spokesperson for Target has said.

San Francisco Police Lt. Tracy McCray blames District Attorney Chesa Boudin for the crime increase. Boudin has gained national attention for his "criminals first" agenda. "I'm used to it," she said. "I mean, we could have a greatest hits compilation of people just walking in and cleaning out the store shelves and security guards, the people who work there, just standing by helplessly because they can't do anything."

The district attorney is not prosecuting any of those crimes as felonies or as a commercial burglary. If a theft is under $950 it is considered just a misdemeanor and the perpetrators are usually given citations instead of being jailed ahead of their court date.

In some cases, Lt. McCray says, the thieves will have their case simply thrown out if they skip their court appearances. Add in the fact that convicted felons are being let out of prison early and you begin to get an idea of just how bad crime is across California.

I watched the video of the Neiman Marcus looting and saw the crooks running out of the store with the merchandise. Most of them were young men. A few were young women. All of them were black. I'm not supposed to say they were black, but I'm saying it. I know damn well I will be labeled racist for telling the truth but I don't care. If we keep skirting the truth by pandering to progressive wokism and phony political correctness then our society is doomed. We have to be honest with ourselves if we ever expect things to get better.

Am I saying that all black people are criminals? Only an idiot or a liar would interpret my words that way. In this case, the people I saw stealing happened to be black. If they were all Hasidic Jews or Scandinavians I would say so, but they weren't. So, let's just be honest with the facts, okay?

The larger point is, crimes like these are usually committed by immoral bored youth (sometimes black, sometimes white) who engage in these acts because they think they can get away with it. In San Francisco they KNOW they can get away with it. These crimes will continue as long as the leftists are in charge of the city.

It will only get worse.
