Everything these people do actually demonstrates the opposite of what they profess to believe in. Their rhetoric is of hope, yet they traffic in hate and despair. They speak of elevating people, but their actions divide people, pitting group against group. They talk of freedom, yet everything they push for involves stripping people of their basic human rights.
Controlling the masses through division, fear, and social stigma is really what the left is all about. They call themselves progressive, but they are quite the opposite, in fact. Repressive would be closer to the truth.
The latest example of this was the news earlier this week of a medical breakthrough in Alzheimer's disease. The Food and Drug Administration approved the first new drug to combat the disease in two decades, a treatment which will finally give hope to millions of families who suffer with this debilitating and heartbreaking illness.
And predictably, the left campaigned against it. They attacked the FDA for "collaborating" with Biogen, the company that developed the drug. So, the FDA worked with a pharmaceutical company to find a therapeutic for Alzheimer's. So what? That's actually a good thing.
The angry left complained that the drug costs too much and also criticized the fact that the benefits from the drug weren't as far reaching as they should be. In other words, not all patients' conditions improved. I guess if it isn't a total cure then it shouldn't be available at all, in their view. No matter that many patients experienced significant benefits, so much so that the FDA saw reason to approve its use.
As the Wall Street Journal rightly noted, even though the drug won't help all patients, "it could still delay disease progression as research continues on potentially more effective treatments. More than 70 are in the clinical pipeline."
The government's approval of this important new treatment, which slows the memory-robbing effects of the disease, will give much needed relief to millions of sufferers, while offering hope to millions more.
What is it in the DNA of people on the left that they simply cannot tolerate any good news? Why is their need for total control and subjugation of all people so great that they cannot tolerate medical breakthroughs of life-threatening diseases?
Remember how they put down hydroxychloroquine as "fake" even though it had been proven to be an effective (and safe) therapeutic in the treatment of Covid?
Many said the left took that position because President Trump touted it. Maybe so, but Trump didn't make it up, he was only repeating what many doctors and scientists had been saying.
The left wouldn't give the Covid vaccine, which was started under the leadership and direction of President Trump, any real credibility until President Biden was in office taking credit for it.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was responsible for the deaths of thousands of seniors he had sent into infected nursing homes.
exact total is still unknown. The left initially ignored it and continues to down play it. Negative news is no news to the left when it involves their own.
Scaring people about the existential threat of climate change. Scaring people through critical race theory. Keeping children out of school.
Locking down society leading to increased suicides, domestic violence, and substance abuse along with the end of many small businesses.
Driving up crime by encouraging lawlessness and letting violent felons out of prison. The left has promoted all of this and more. There has never been anything positive or uplifting coming out of the left. It's all negative all the time.
There's no question that the left is a joyless, angry vindictive lot with no regard for human life, never mind human liberties. Studies have shown that people who tend to be on the left are less happy than those on the right. When you listen to them and watch what they do, you begin to see it.
Unhappy people who need to keep the rest of us as miserable as they are.
Americans by their very nature are not unhappy people and don't intend to be. The loser lefties will ultimately go down in flames just as other repressive regimes have throughout history.
