At first it was just shock, shock that Donald Trump had actually won the presidency over their beloved Hillary.
For those of us who voted for Trump, witnessing the level of angst, sorrow, and distress on the faces of political commentators and broadcast newsreaders on mainstream television was beyond weird.
It also was quite telling.
If one needed indisputable proof that mainstream media is primarily left leaning, there it was right on TV!
Watching college students sobbing in campus "safe spaces" and hearing how grown men and women were "crushed," their lives utterly destroyed by the outcome of an election seemed at first just plain silly and more than a little laughable.
But as time went on, as weeks grew into months, and months into years, Democrats and their pals in the media have not gotten over it.
Trump Derangement Syndrome has not gone into remission, it has metastasized. And things aren't so funny anymore.
We should have known from the beginning, when shortly after the election results came in, so-called Democratic leaders in Congress displayed placards reading "RESIST." These people had no intention of trying to work with Donald Trump.
They have never accepted him as president and have now, it should be obvious to everyone, have gone further than merely "resisting." They are out to get him.
For more than two years they have waged war with the Trump presidency. They have called him every name conceivable and painted him in the most reprehensible ways. They have called him demented, senile, and unfit to serve. The have accused him of being a racist, a white nationalist, an anti-Semite, a misogynist, a homophobe, an islamophobe, and anything else they could come up with.
They even accused President Trump of being a traitor to his country, working with Russia to derail the 2016 election. Special prosecutor, Bob Mueller, was appointed and conducted an exhaustive two year thirty-five million dollar investigation into Trump, his family, and his associates in an attempt to prove his crimes and collusion with Russia.
In the end the federal investigators (Many of whom hated Trump to begin with) found absolutely nothing to link President Trump or anyone who worked for him with any crimes or obstruction of justice. That should have ended it, but it didn't. The Dems had hopes that the report would find Trump guilty of treason, it didn't happen so what do they do? They pretend that the report is somehow wrong. They continue to hunt into Trump's life; his taxes, his business dealings, his personal affairs, going back years and even decades.
They call for impeachment even though the man has done nothing wrong, Trump committed no crimes.
At the same time they realize that impeachment might backfire on them. But never mind that, they will take this impeachment thing as far as they can. Remember, they will do whatever is necessary to get rid of Donald Trump. They'll stop at nothing. And they know they MUST do SOMETHING to stop him before the 2020 election.
Just this week a Democrat congressman let the cat out of the bag when he said on a television news program that basically they (the Democrats) cannot allow the people to choose who will be president. In other words they know that if Trump is not removed from office before the election, he will most likely be re-elected by the American people.
Rep. Al Green, a Democrat from Texas said in an interview on MSNBC:
"I'm concerned if we don't impeach this president, he will get re-elected. . . . We must impeach him."
So it seems that the Dems know that they can't beat Trump in an election. Impeachment is their last hope. Or is it? And here is where things get really dark and scary.
Knowing that these people will literally say and do everything they can to destroy Trump, the question becomes "What exactly do we mean when we say, "everything?" Just how far will they go? Where else CAN they go? If they can't impeach him, and they can't win against him in an election, what is left?
They've spent years telling everyone that this person is no good, that he is evil, that he will destroy your country and destroy your family and your way of life, that he is as horrible as any dictator and madman that has ever lived.
When they keep harping on this how long do you think it will take before someone decides to take matters into his own hands and do what needs to be done to protect the country from this vicious monster?
I hesitated to write this column. Some thoughts are just too frightening to put down on paper. Sometimes evil ideas are better left unsaid, or unwritten. But the fact is that for almost three years 327 million people have been listening to the press and the Democrats and the entertainment industry and professors in college tell them that Donald Trump stole the election and needs to be taken downÉone way or another.
Violent uprisings and assassinations have occurred for far less. All it takes is one deranged individual.
As the Democrats and their willing dupes in the media continue to vilify our president they should understand they are playing a very dangerous political game.
