Utopian nightmare

Well, well, well. The Washington Times has reported that cities which cut police budgets last year are showing major spikes in homicides. Hmmm.

So, let me get this straight, cutting back on policing actually increases crimes and murders? Who would have thunk it! Certainly not the leftist morons who claimed if we eliminated the police we would have less crime in the streets. Gee, I guess they were wrong on that one, eh?

The increase in murders began last year and is continuing to rise, the Times analysis shows. It's as clear as a bell, the cities that slashed police budgets are seeing some of the largest jumps in homicide.

In the first three months of 2021 the murder rate in 20 major cities across the country rose by 28% from the same period last year.

And get this, in nine of the cities that made the most dramatic cuts to police department budgets, homicides rose by nearly 68%. SIXTY-EIGHT PERCENT!

"Portland, Oregon's, homicide rate soared a staggering 1,900% in 2021, with 20 killings, compared with one during the first three months of 2020. The city carved $16 million, or 7%, out of its police budget last year," the paper said. "Austin, Texas, cut $20 million, or 23%, from its department budget and shifted another $80 million by moving certain services to other departments.

Police have reported 19 homicides this year, compared with 14 during the same period last year Ñ a 35% rise.

Philadelphia reduced police funding by 5%, or $33 million, and saw homicides climb 25% to 120 in early 2021 from 96 during the same period last year," the Times went on to say.

And in Minneapolis, the place where it all started last summer, there have been 19 homicides this year, a 46% jump from the 13 in the first quarter of 2020. The Minneapolis city council has shrunk its department's budget by more than $9 million, or 5%.

Of course, it's the "woke" left that marches for defunding the police. You might assume that they actually believe that less cops equals more security on our streets. And they believe this due to a lack of critical thinking, common sense, logic, and reason. But no, they do not believe that.

To assume that they do is to underestimate the intensions of the left. They are not na•ve, everything they do is politically motivated.

They know damn well that defunding police departments, let alone cutting back on policing in general, will lead to more violence and civil disorder. That's the whole point!

Civil unrest, the break-down of society, dividing citizens against one another and the fear that it instills in people is all part of the plan. If you are uninitiated, read "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinsky.

This is the text book for the left, the book read and admired by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, to name just two. Many other liberals have embraced the Alinsky playbook since its initial publication in 1972.

What it is, is a Marxist step by step instruction manual for "social justice" through successful anarchy. When you've finished that one, research the Cloward and Piven strategy for the redistribution of income.

This also calls for changing peaceful divergent groups of people into warring factions. This garbage, like the Alinsky book, is still taught and embraced by sociology and political departments in universities and colleges across the country.

Too many Americans are unaware how the left has been eroding the structure and soul of our country for decades.

Up until the last couple of years it has been a relatively slow process.

Now it has gone into high gear with no end in sight and without much pushback by anyone.

Republicans for the most part are watching it happen like a deer in the headlights.

The few that do speak out aren't getting much airtime nor internet platforms to get the message across to the majority of people. Most people are not plugged in to politics or know much about social issues and don't care to know.

What will strike home to the masses, however, will be the increase of violence in our cities, particularly homicides. If the trend continues, if murders continue to skyrocket maybe more Americans will wake up to what has been going on and demand a change.

Frankly it isn't the "woke left" that concerns me as much as my fellow citizens who haven't yet awoken to the seriousness of what has been going on in our county.
