Will Dems Leave Their Irreligious Party?

Most legitimate surveys show that the majority of Americans believe in some form of religion and of a Superior Being. Nevertheless, in August, the Democrat Party officially declared itself to be the party of the irreligious. That's not much of a surprise to those who recall G od being booed at the 2012 Dem convention but one has to wonder what prompted this official declaration:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE recognizes:

1. The value, ethical soundness, and importance of the religiously unaffiliated demographic, a group of Americans who contribute in innumerable ways to the arts, sciences, medicine, business, law, the military, their communities, the success of the Party and prosperity of the Nation; and

2. That religiously unaffiliated Americans are a group that, as much as any other, advocates for rational public policy based on sound science and universal humanistic values and should be represented, included, and heard by the Party.

The DNC claims that un-religious people identify with their party and its platform but that does not mean that all democrats share its beliefs. My family has always been diehard Democrats yet are religious at the same time and I'm afraid that's because they have no idea how extreme the party has become. What they do have is a great distrust for Republicans because that is what they hear in the mainstream media. The demonization of the GOP has been very successfully wrought by the lapdog lamestream media.

The average Democrat I know does not believe that infanticide is a right nor do they accept the nonsense that there are more than two genders. They do not believe that open borders that allow drugs and murderous gangs into our country should be our policy. Those that have jobs do not approve of their wages taxed to give benefits to those who are here unlawfully. They are also outraged that children are being subjected to progressive stunts like having drag queens read to them in public while exposing their crotches. (Don't believe this? Google it). They do not approve of grown men being allowed to use women's bathrooms especially when they are being occupied by young girls.

Yet all of that is being pushed by the Democrats running for president in 2020.

It's puzzling why the DNC is declaring itself the party of the irreligious when there are clearly signs that the nation is embracing the alternative. Former rapper of raunchy lyrics, Kanye West, has found Jesus and is preaching at gospel concerts. So far none of the 2020 Democrat candidates has claimed to reject religion and one, Pete Buttigieg, is constantly claiming to be the real Christian. Perhaps, the DNC passed this declaration to distance their party from the current administration whose leader is frequently mentioning and thanking G od for this country.

I admit to being a practicing Roman Catholic which means I believe in G od and also in the existence of the Devil. Can anyone deny that evil appears to be behind many of the most horrific events in the past and current century? Wars, of course, have been around throughout the millennia but there has been a plethora of truly evil incidents that can only be explained as having a demonic aura. Am I being oversensitive or can anyone describe what happened to 6 year old Christopher Michael Barrios in Georgia in 2007 as anything less than evil?

Christopher was kidnapped from his grandmother's backyard, sexually assaulted by a convicted sex offender, George Edenfield, and his father, David Edenfield, while his mother, Peggy Edenfield, watched. Then they choked the boy to death. I wrote a column about it for the New York Sun and waited for the outrage that didn't come because it didn't involve a priest.

This year the irreligious Democrat party candidates are lock step in allowing infanticide to be considered a woman's civil right. I doubt any of them watched the film about serial baby killer Dr. Kermit Gosnell. He was convicted of murder by a jury horrified by the photo taken of a fully formed baby Gosnell killed after being born alive after an illegal late term abortion.

What do the irreligious find to be outrageous about except Trump and his ‘deplorable' followers? It's certainly not the crimes against children or the innocent unborn. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi hypocritically espouses her Catholic faith while blatantly ignoring all of its credos. What has happened to the political party of my parents and neighbors? Ronald Reagan, a former Dem, said, "I didn't leave the Democrat Party. It left me."

Rich Logis at American Thinker wrote a warning about expecting a Trump landslide in 2020: "The Democratic Party is the most dangerous group in the history of our republic, foreign or domestic " more than the Islamic supremacists, more than the Nazis, more than the Soviets and more than the communists. Yes, the aforementioned groups all posed (and some continue to pose) existential threats to the U.S. and the West, but the Democrats embody the enemy within."

Just as dangerous is the entrenched politician on both sides of the aisle who will do whatever it takes to retain power. One of the most edifying classic films which aired recently is Mr. Smith goes to Washington.

It was directed by an American-loving legal immigrant Frank Capra. The idealistic Smith is appalled to learn that his esteemed Senator has been controlled by a powerful media tycoon for over twenty years. My congressman, Michael Grimm, told us at a tea party town hall meeting that he had just found out that in Congress, nobody on either side of the aisle cared about anything except getting reelected. Like Mr. Smith, Rep. Grimm was targeted by the media and had little support from the GOP elite and ended up being crucified.

The electorate who ushered in a greater America in 2016 was anything but irreligious as they lit their candles, wore their prayer shawls and fingered their beads while offering prayers to the Almighty.

They will need to do that again in November 2020. KAG Remember that, girlies. There is no greater power than that.
