Berry should be on the Oppressed People's team

Gwen Berry a hammer-thrower (that's a sport?) on the U.S. Olympic team, sneers at those who've criticized her for turning her back on the Stars and Stripes.

She says she did it to show she "represents oppressed peoples everywhere," and is helping to raise awareness of their plight. Such conceit borders on megalomania.

Did she grow up in the United States of Oppressed Peoples? Was she protected by its laws and guarded by its armed forces?

I'd love to see an U.S. Olympian who acknowledged the millions of Americans who died to give her a country where she could live free. Oh, yeah, it's called standing at attention respectfully, when our National Anthem is played, hand over her heart.

As for Berry, Instead of competing for the U.S., she should be a member of the Oppressed Peoples Olympic Team, wear and Oppressed Peoples uniform, and — if she wins a medal — they can play the Oppressed Peoples Anthem — "I Gotta Be Me" or "Prisoner of Love"?

Tyrants the world over are now on notice: If they don't stop murdering and torturing oppressed people, Gwen Berry will continue to represent them.
