After the devastating attacks of 9/11 2001, the establishment of a Homeland Security agency to monitor foreign attacks on our nation made sense. After the Democrats took over in 2007, it morphed into an agency that regarded our biggest enemies as conservatives and white supremacists. This past week, two 21 year-old men were arrested in separate incidents but the one that triggered DHS's attention was the White supremacist suspected of killing 9 blacks in S.C. The other young man arrested in Staten Island of attacking an FBI agent and having an ISIS affiliation has not attracted much national attention and it should.
Dylaan Roof is another drug-addled loser who's gained infamy through murder and joins other crazed loons like Adam Lanza (26 dead including 20 children) and James Holmes (12 dead, 70 injured).
Yet almost immediately after the murders in Charleston, S.C., the President and the Department of Homeland Security made statements that blamed easy access to guns as the need for more gun control laws. The president even made the foolish statement that these mass killings do not occur in other developed countries. Apparently Norway and France which have very restrictive gun laws did not prevent their mass killings of innocent victims- Norway-77, France (Charlie Hebdo-11). Obama's teleprompter needs to be updated.
In a statement by DHS spokesman, Matt Chandler said, "DHS continues to work with its state, local, tribal, territorial, and private partners to prevent and protect against potential threats to the United States by focusing on preventing violence that is motivated by extreme ideological beliefs."
Extreme ideological beliefs must not mean Islamic jihadism because the other 21 year-old arrested on Staten Island had pledged to join ISIS and if he could not was prepared to attack and kill police officers. Fareed Mumuni was arrested by the FBI-NYPD joint terrorism task force after allegedly attacking federal agents while his home was being searched in a terrorism investigation related to the Islamic State, or ISIS.
Thank goodness, such a task force exists because the Department of Homeland Security is too busy supporting President Obama's agenda on gun control and immigration. The DHS is responsible for releasing thousands of illegal immigrants awaiting deportation onto our streets, many with criminal pasts. Several of these so-called unaccompanied alien children are in fact street gang members. Three of these teens from El Salvador were arrested for the brutal rape of a 16- year-old teen from New York earlier this month.
As the media focuses on the racial hatred of Dylaan Roof, they and the DHS are ignoring the importance of Fareed Mumuni and exploring the genesis of his radicalization by ISIS.
I've discovered a lot about this young man and like many who know him, can't understand what happened to him. From the 4th to 8th grade, he attended a parochial school that all my children attended. I spoke to one of his teachers who described him as a very sweet, meek boy from a lovely family. Although he was a devout Muslim, he attended the Catholic services as was required for all students. Many Muslims sent their children to Immaculate Conception school, an inner-city elementary school which provided a superior education than the local public school which had the lowest reading scores. This valuable oasis in the inner-city was closed by the archdiocese in a bone-headed decision by budget-crazed bureaucrats who've forgotten that the mission of catholic schools was established to educate the poor.
Fareed's teacher told me that she felt he could be easy to manipulate because of his docile nature. A stronger personality could influence his attraction to the ISIS and if the DHS was at all concerned about homegrown terror from foreign sources they would be trying to track down the sources that recruit the vulnerable like Fareed.
Liberal politicians have done whatever they could to stop the NYPD's forays into surveillance of mosques and profiling and with the election of uber-liberal DeBlasio, crime has soared.
Meanwhile it's not very difficult to fathom the cause of the hate that fueled Roof's murderous rampage. His manifesto of hate has been posted by the authorities but I found it interesting that he writes that it all began with Trayvon Martin's killing. How the media misled with the reporting and Obama's claiming Trayvon could have been his son rankled even those without a racist bone in their body. Anyone on Facebook has been inundated with video after video of black flash mobs storming into malls and stores, looting and attacking whites. The endless camera shots of blacks beating helpless whites on subways and buses has generated commenters on blogs to ask 'what's going on? "
To someone on psych drugs and other recreational drugs to feed their paranoia, there's no mystery about Roof or the other mass murderers in this country. It's drugs, dysfunctional families, divorce and other disturbances in the home yet politicians will exploit these incidents to demand tighter gun control. Breitbart contributor Milo Yiannopoulos urges doctors to stop medicating young boys. He writes: "Roof is just the latest in a long line of young men who have committed appalling crimes after a lifetime on psychotropic drugs. If you don't believe me, consider some of the most notorious young male shooters in American history. Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza? Lexapro and Celexa. Red-headed Aurora killer James Holmes? Clonazepam and sertraline. Virginia Tech mass murderer Seung-Hui Cho?Prozac. Charles Whitman, the "Texas Tower Sniper"? Dexedrine. Columbine executioners Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold? Zoloft and Luvox."
The harder question is what turned Fareed? Was it someone he met in College? Was it a radical Imam in the mosque? Is anyone in the DHS bothering to ask why? Fareed Mumumi's sister is in the military. Will she now be targeted as a potential threat as the Ft. Hood killer, Major Nidal Malik Hasan?
Many blacks are converted to Islam in prison as was Malcolm X, who when he discovered that he had been fed lies by the Nation of Islam, had to be killed. In a sane world, visits by radical Islamist Imams would be banned but when it comes to recognizing who the real enemy to our nation security is, the DHS is clueless.
There is never any excuse for the murder of innocent people but these heinous acts of violence will continue to occur while government agencies politicize these crises and ignore the real truth behind them. If the Department of Homeland Security can't figure out which homeland needs security it should be scrapped immediately.
