Betrayed Again! House GOP Traitor Cut Deal With Dems For January 6th Riot Commission

Republican House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced that he will not support the formation or funding of a commission to investigate the January 6th riot at the United States Capitol.

While the media reported that Republican Congressman John Katko negotiated with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to form the commission, it did not report that Katko is also one of the handful of Republicans who voted to remove President Donald Trump from office this past January.

The very idea of a 9/11 style commission to investigate the Capitol Riot is nothing but a partisan attempt by the Democrats to keep the issue alive.

The January 6 event was not an insurrection, as the Democrats say, nor an attempt to overthrow the government. It was simply a mob that went crazy and got out of hand.

To pretend that it was a national security emergency and to form a commission to investigate is absurd. Indeed, it's arguably reminiscent of the Nazi attempt to use the Reichstag Fire of 1933 as a pretext to pave Hitler's path to power.

Katko is proudly advertising the fact that he has negotiated a deal with the Democrats to form the commission with an equal number of congressmen from each party.

Republican leader McCarthy points out that 445 people have already been arrested in connection with the riot and that prosecutions are ongoing. In fact, he points out that the commission could impede criminal trials against those arrested.

House Republicans should remove Katko from his leadership position as the ranking Republican member on the Homeland Security Committee. The fact that he voted to remove Trump should disqualify him from leading the Republican members of this vital committee.

The purge of the House Republicans who voted to remove Trump should continue and go beyond just Liz Cheney. Katko, an upstate New York Republican from Syracuse, deserves to be ousted in a primary and thrown out as Republican leader of the Committee.

How are we, as Republicans, to battle hard to take control of the House if it would mean that the likes of Katko are elevated to premiere committees like Homeland Security?
