Are You Afraid Yet? Tis the Season
Ah, tis the season of joy and happiness---NOT!

It’s time for the tyrannical power gods to inflict more terror and angst into our over stressed lives so we’ll be eager to let our government save us. The latest scourge is the limp omicron virus that is basically the common cold but media demands it wear the cloak of a bubonic-like plague. Political tyrants are mandating vaccinations or else {even though they know these vaccines are useless and, in some cases, dangerous}. Formerly independent-minded Americans have become lemmings rushing to the cliffs erected by Uncle Sam’s Plantation. "Come on, man" as Biden is wont to say.

I strongly suggest Americans read a letter written to us by Archbishop Vigano in warning of this awful coup inflicted upon us by the liberal globalist Deep State.

Years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Myna Blyth, author of Spin Sisters: How the Women of the Media Sell Unhappiness --- and Liberalism --- to the Women of America. This book was a real eye opener, written by a woman who had been part of that media elite in women magazines for over twenty years. The media divas whom Blyth calls this "Girls' club," from Harper's Bazaar editor Glenda Bailey to Katie Couric, are out of touch with middle-class American women. They control these women magazines from their Manhattan canyons, have lots of domestic help at home and, even worse, vote overwhelmingly Democratic. The truth is that most Middle-Class women are not as unhappy as these manipulators expect us to be but they won’t stop trying to influence our political viewpoints.

Millennials have no idea what it was like during the Cold War but I am ancient enough to remember what it was like when I was a child. I felt so grateful to live in a country that allowed us the freedom of living a private life. In the Soviet Union, neighbors were encouraged to report on each other any infraction or disobedience to the State. The pandemic has allowed certain politicians to use Soviet-like fear tactics to enforce obedience to the state they are in charge of. Consequently, some citizens have fallen prey to these tactics and unwittingly are behaving like the former victims of soviet tyranny.

I was reminded of the past while reading a post on the site Next Door. It’s supposed to be a site where neighbors post helpful general news about local issues. An acquaintance of mine posted what he believed was advice when one encounters a restaurant not adhering to Covid restrictions and protocol by checking temperatures, masks, and vaccine id cards of customers. He suggested that customers report the offending restaurant to 311. Over 200 comments followed this post with the majority angry that this man was punishing any of the businesses that have gone through terrible economic times since 2020. There were some who shared the poster’s admonition but most thankfully called him a Soviet era snitch.

I know the poster well and can understand his high anxiety with all things Covid-19. He has many health issues and has had a kidney transplant and does need to be cautious but his best bet is to restrict his own exposure to the virus and respect others to do the same.

In August, I contracted the virus and at my age with numerous morbidities, I should have been a goner but I never was hospitalized nor did I even visit my doctor. I have tested positive for antibodies and have no intention of being vaccinated. Several in my family have had the virus this year which proved no worse than the normal flu but they are all young adults or teenagers. Despite Covid restrictions mandated by Gov. Cuomo last year, we celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas without masks and plan to do the same this year. Why? Because we know that all the CDC and mainstream media directives are suspect and their guru, Dr. Fauci hasn’t seen a real, live patient in over 35 years.

As the holiday season wanes, we need to take a good long look at how far we have succumbed to the endless fear mongering dealt by the mainstream media anchors. We need to be reminded of this quote by H.L. Mencken, (1880-1956) a real journalist and essayist:

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary."

It’s time to awaken our inner warrior and stop cowering at the faux news stories emanating from the mouths of leftwing TV anchors and WH press secretaries. This should be the season of hope not despair. This country was founded on Judeo Christian principles which both signify hope.

Hanukkah is the eight-day Jewish Festival of Lights that typically takes place between late November and late December. Jews celebrate it by lighting the menorah, playing the game of dreidel and eating special holiday foods like latkes and sjelly donuts. Hanukkah commemorates the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem after it was defiled by the Selucids in 164 B.C.E., and is one of the happiest Jewish holidays of the year.

In Christianity we celebrate the birth of our Savior who tells us, "Be not afraid for I will be with you till the end of time." But as humans, we will always be vulnerable to fear and the Devil knows that. His minions are hard at work, making sure that all joy and happiness disappear. Consider the last book of the Christian Bible, Revelations. The words within have been spun to be a warning of the coming apocalypse and the end of the world when in fact, it is a reminder that no matter how many ills and disasters strike us, G od will always be there in the end to save us. It is a promise of Hope fulfilled. G od is there for us forever.

So, we can listen to the Drs. Faucis and Biden and hide in the corner or we can celebrate this season of hope and goodness.

Happy Hanukah, Merry Christmas and good will to all. . .
