Miami Heat president Pat Riley swore Monday he didn't force
out coach Stan Van Gundy just so he could become coach and get all
the camera time. Nobody buys it. Sports fans in Miami believe that
O.J. Simpson can stop looking for the real killer.
Congress passed a bill Tuesday that will mint a new one-
dollar coin honoring United States presidents, four per year. It
should be very successful. Already there's a fight underway over
who gets to be tails on the Clinton and Kennedy coins.
The State Department warned Americans not to go to Iraq
Tuesday. The warning couldn't wait any longer. Housing is so
expensive it's become a real temptation for Californians to sell
their condos and trade up to one of Saddam Hussein's palaces.
Los Angeles gangs did not riot as promised following the
execution of Crips founder Tookie Williams. The situation is
different today than it was during the Rodney King riot. Those big
screen TV sets are way too heavy to carry at full speed.
The Washington Post reported Tuesday that federal air marshals will work bus stations during the holidays. They just shot and killed a passenger in Miami Airport for not obeying shouted orders. If they are going to shoot everyone who defies authority at a bus station, it's a good thing Rosa Parks is out of harm's way.
