Stupid really is as Stupid does

It seems every day we're greeted by a new Jonathan Gruber video saying how stupid the American Voter is and that is why the Obamacare bill was drafted so as to fool them. Frankly I can't argue with his conclusion. I just wish the pundits would remind all that not one Republican voted for Obamacare so basically it was the Dem voters that needed this deceitful tactic. Conservative voters knew from the get-go that the law was a disaster. We showed up en masse at town hall meetings and started the tea party grass roots movement in 2009 because we are not stupid.

Only an idiot would accept what Nancy Pelosi said when she was asked about the bill-"But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it." Huh? I don't recall any lapdog in the mainstream media asking if Pelosi was really serious. Besides the outrageous hubris the then Speaker of the House showed with that ridiculous statement, it is now obvious that she shared Gruber's opinion of the her voter base. Why not? They had been voting for her despite her shady ethics history- more proof that the California voter is beyond stupid. New York voters are just as dumb and perhaps stupider if you look into their voting records.

They just reelected Rep. Charlie Rangel who has been censured by Congress for ethics violations. He has been in office since 1971 and no Harlem resident can specify what good he's done for that district other than make himself very, very wealthy. Poor Rangel lost his seat on the tax-writing committee just because he failed to pay income taxes and misused his office to solicit fund-raising donations. So what, his supporters say-everybody does it. New Yorkers continue to vote for a Democrat Assembly headed by Sheldon Silver, a politician whose employment with Weitz & Luxenberg, one of the state's larger litigation firms has led some to accuse Silver of having a conflict of interest, as he has consistently blocked medical malpractice and other tort reform in Albany. And our taxes still keep going up and up.

New Yorkers have reelected Andrew Cuomo to a second term even though he has been embroiled in a corruption scandal which the mainstream media refuses to cover. I've always wondered why no investigative reporter ever managed to find out what happened to the millions missing from H.U.D. when Cuomo was its Secretary. Oh, I forgot. There are no more investigative reporters in the mainstream media. At least not smart ones.

If there were they'd be asking why any bill has to be thousands of pages long? For that matter, shouldn't it be required for legislators to actually read what they are voting on? Apparently not- so wouldn't that mean that not only are Democrat voters dumb but so are their politicians?

Jonathan Gruber is simply telling the truth that most conservatives have been trying to expose for decades. The Democrat Party has been lying and deceiving the public to maintain their power in government not to represent the people. They are the ones responsible for the dumbing down of the electorate and their comrade in arms is the mainstream media which selectively covers their agenda while dismissing reality.

I recently had a relative visit from Los Angeles who was planning a trip into Manhattan. I jokingly told her to watch out for the knockout gamers and found out that she had never heard of it. This 'game' which has resulted in some deaths since 2011 involves groups of blacks attacking innocent whites, elderly, rabbis, and filming it to score points is obviously not news that's fit to print in PC publications. This self-censorship is another way to dumb down the news by keeping the electorate informed with headier stuff such as-"How big is Kim Kardashian's rump?"

Although the Gruber tapes are opening some people's eyes, in the long run, I doubt that they will smarten up the 'dumb American voter'. The low-info voter doesn't read the Drudge Report or watch Fox News and if they do read newspapers, this is just another scandal that will land on the back pages.

Are the low-info voters really stupid or are they just naïve and gullible? If a major news source and the government puts out a report that there are 40,000 uninsured that need health insurance, shouldn't they trust that figure even though there is no way to confirm it? If the government says, there are x amount of illegal immigrants already here that need to come out of the shadows and be counted, shouldn't they believe that too? NO.

Conservatives haven't trusted in liberal numbers since Roe V Wade in 1973 when the abortion advocates threw out the figure of 10,000 women dying from illegal, back alley abortions. Everything about Jane Roe was a lie. She wasn't a rape victim and the entire, political wrangling to obtain her an abortion took so long she actually gave birth to a child she gave up for adoption. Norma McCorvey aka Jane Roe asserted that she had been the "pawn" of two young and ambitious lawyers (Weddington and Coffee) who were looking for a plaintiff with whom they could challenge the Texas state law prohibiting abortion.

Bernard Nathanson, an obstetrician, NARAL Pro-Choice founder, and abortion activist who turned pro-life activist admitted the deceit. He said, ""We claimed that between five and ten thousand women a year died of botched abortions." "The actual figure was closer to 200 to 300 and we also claimed that there were a million illegal abortions a year in the United States and the actual figure was close to 200,000. So, we were guilty of massive deception."

Liberals and Democrats have been lying to us for decades and the dumb American voter proves by their votes that stupid is as stupid does.

Does the 2014 Republican wave mean we've wised up?
