• Princeton University's Manjul Barghava won the Fields medal, an equivalent of the Nobel Prize for Mathematics. He was awarded for his work with infinite numbers. Using a formula that filled up six blackboards, he demonstrated how long it will take him to pay off his student loans.
• A Barcelona comedy club installed facial recognition software on each seat that records every time a customer laughs. The cover charge is free but the customer pays thirty cents per laugh. If they installed this in the House gallery we could pay off the national debt by Christmas.
• ISIS leader Bakr al-Baghdadi stayed in hiding Friday as ISIS took Kobani and threatened to take Baghdad. Everyone knows that he's targeted for a drone strike. His followers have great faith in him but when he drops off his clothes at the dry cleaners, they make him pay in advance.
• ABC's This Week panelist Van Jones urged Democrats this fall to use Ebola as a case for big government. The GOP is just as partisan. Texas Republicans issued a statement advising Texans not to worry about the spread of the deadly virus from Africa, his term runs out in two years.
