The National Football League season starts this weekend. The
new television deal will add Thursday and Saturday night games to
the Sunday and Monday games. Advertisers believe the more
marriages they break up, the more beer they will sell.
The Spice Girls announced on their web site Sunday that they
plan to reunite for a world concert tour next summer. They plan to
sing on all seven continents. It's a threat they intend to carry
out unless the insurgents lay down their weapons.
Michael Jackson went sailing and house hunting in Dubai
Monday with the son of the King of Bahrain. It may be his new
home. He just moved out of his mansion in Santa Barbara because
the neighbors were starting to figure out it was not a grade school.
House Speaker Denny Hastert said on Tuesday he wonders if
New Orleans should be rebuilt since it's below sea level. The next
day he backed off his statement and said he had been
misunderstood. What he meant to say was that he loves his job.
The New Orleans population moved out to neighboring states
last week. The new arrivals need food, clothes, jobs and
psychological counseling. The Hollywood Screen Actors Guild just
offered to fly to Houston and conduct orientation sessions.
