Vladimir Putin spoke to reporters covering the Helsinki summit, saying the Cold War is over. That war was a forty year stand-off between two ideologies that hated each other with a nuclear fury. Putin can say the Cold War is over but he doesn't watch White House press conferences.
• President Trump's refusal to confront Putin to his face at their post-summit press conference sent Democrats, CNN and establishment Republicans into a fury. It never ends. Hollywood is so certain that Trump is a Russian plant they're making a movie about it called the Siberian Candidate.
• The U.S. indicted the Russia military for hacking into DNC computers and exposing how Dems screwed Bernie Sanders out of the nomination. At least the interference by the Russians did not result in Russia affecting which candidate got the most votes. That's Mexico's job and they're in a different union.
• The White House dispatched the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner to Mexico City to meet with Mexico's new president and propose a trade deal. It should work. Everybody knows if President Trump were any more pro-Hispanic, candy would come out of him when you hit him with a stick.
. • Hillary Clinton opened her speech to a union convention in Pittsburgh Saturday by remarking how tired she's been. However she's not going quietly. Hillary spoke out against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, prompting fears among Democrats that he may be confirmed as President.
• The Federal Aviation Administration was reportedly being inundated by complaints about passenger service and cramped seating on the nation's three major airlines. It's not all bad. The nicest thing about flying United is that the emergency oxygen masks aren't coin-operated in first class.
• The Justice Department indicted twelve Russian officers for hacking into Democrat computers and e-mails during the last election. They wanted to cause havoc. If I were Vladimir Putin, I'd have wondered if the summit in Helsinki was just a ruse to allow Trump to serve me with a subpoena.
