The West Hollywood City Council ordered cops Monday not to arrest people for smoking pot in their homes. The city has an all-gay government. West Hollywood's policies are a leading predictor of next year's Episcopal Church convention agenda.
Al Gore flew to Los Angeles last weekend to promote his global warming movie, An Inconvenient Truth. He got off the plane asking everyone to notice the soaring temperatures and higher surf. It's just like a politician to take credit for summer.
Ramsey Clark flew to Baghdad this week to represent Saddam Hussein in closing arguments as the Iraq dictator went on a hunger strike. He wants to look his very best for the hangman's noose. Everybody knows how television puts ten pounds on you.
U.N. Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie did TV interviews Tuesday to highlight World Refugee Day. She wasn't very convincing. By the end of the day the House and Senate were vowing to hold hearings that will kill immigration reform for good.
The House and Senate announced plans Friday to hold hearings on each other's immigration bills. They have to reconcile one bill that gives amnesty and another that builds a wall. They've got a better chance of getting the Beatles back together.
