The West Hollywood City Council ordered cops Monday not to arrest people for smoking pot in their homes. The city has an all-gay government. West Hollywood's policies are a leading predictor of next year's Episcopal Church convention agenda.

By the end of the day the House and Senate were vowing to hold hearings that will kill immigration reform for good. The House and Senate announced plans Friday to hold hearings on each other's immigration bills. They have to reconcile one bill that gives amnesty and another that builds a wall.
