The Sorry Result of Women's Liberation

Way back in the 20th Century, my sister and I went to the Cannes Film Festival on my first trip to Europe. At that time, the established female stars were glamorous and classy but the festival coverage itself by the global press always managed to spotlight the trashy and exhibitionist antics of an unknown starlet dressed in nearly nude outfits.

On May 4th, at the Metropolitan Museum's 2015 Gala, it was the established celebrities that wore even trashier, albeit very expensive, attire. I use the word celebrities instead of stars because Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce, wearers of the barely there, do not deserve that appellation. They are merely examples of how low our culture has sunk.

I grew up as a teen eagerly awaiting every new issue of Modern Screen, Photoplay, Hollywood, Screen Stories, Silver Screen and others that featured the beautiful, talented and glamorous women who were light years away from my environs in the barrio. Looking at what was worn on the red carpet at the Met Gala, I had a hard time imagining what true stars like Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman would look like in those threads. Even the sex bombs like Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield never displayed more than cleavage at public events.

But that was then, this is now and we not only get to view the naked bodies of wannabe celebs, we get to see them having sex because that's become a prerequisite for stardom. No need for the casting couch anymore; just send them a video of your nether regions, Right, Ms. Hilton?

How did women sink to this level of degradation? Dare I suggest this? Perhaps it began when women got bumped off their pedestals by the Women's Movement in the early '60's.

I was a young, naive woman back then but even I could tell that the whole rebellion was not primarily about equal rights but smacked of a devious masculine wizard behind the screen. Did women really want to be treated like men instead of respected as the hand that rocked the cradle and ruled the world?

Tying the movement with the early suffragettes was a canny tactic because no one really bothered to study who these brave women were or that the Susan B. Anthony and her peers were pro-life.

Who has benefited most from legalized abortion? Men, of course. Forget the shotgun weddings and what better way for mad scientists to do research than to have an abundance of fetal tissue available to experiment on?

A comedian once joked about reading National Geographic magazine to look at women's breasts. It's so much smarter to get women to take off their clothes voluntarily. Girls Gone Wild indeed is actually Girls Gone stupid.

Along with any vestige of modesty or quaint idea of chastity, many young women today seem to have lost several IQ digits if one is to judge by comments they make in the media. One woman named Haley J. made the following comment: "I would create equal rights for women, such as equal pay, jobs for women and I would end women's suffrage." This young woman was interviewed at a college campus demonstrating how well academia is indoctrinating our youth.

I am of course, only referring to those women who lean leftward because the bright ones lean way over on the right. They are unlikely to vote with their vaginas as Kate Harding, a Hillary supporter wrote in the feminist site DAME, "I intend to vote with my vagina. Unapologetically. Enthusiastically... And I intend to talk about it,.

NOW, The National Organization For Women has long been a partisan biased, cowardly group that charges sexism willy-nilly at every issue except when it ignores the very real plight of Muslim women. It has been reported in the New York Post that over 500 brain dead Western women have traveled to the Middle East to join the ISIS barbarians.

For that matter why would any sane woman want to convert to a religion that espouses abject subjugation of women to Sharia law and genital mutilation? Are they moronic masochists or just morons?

So men kicked women off their pedestals and convinced them that they are just as horny as men. They are no longer willing to stay at home with the kids, get married or even have the kids. Unwanted pregnancies can be erased by abortion on demand and Margaret Sanger is considered a saint as long as you don't substitute the word abortion with baby killing.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Doublespeak. For the welfare women who have eschewed husbands from their baby factories in exchange for the government check, children become a resource rather than an innocent to be nurtured.. What a shame and it is no mystery why there is so much anger among the youth existing on Uncle Sam's plantation.

I used to think it was bleeding hearts that unwisely fostered so many programs that broke up the homes but the sad fact is that liberals don't give a rat's arse about the poor. Their Marxist ideology and 27 trillion dollars later have done nothing to eliminate poverty but it has succeeded in creating a dependent, ignorant sub-class forever beholden to their political 'massuhs.'

As for the male consorts of those exhibitionists at the Met Gala, they seemed proud to be seen with their undressed women. Not one of them brave enough to tell these women that they're dressed like skanky whores.

Ah, liberation can be so tricky.
