ABC announced Tuesday that its fall schedule includes a new
show called Commander-in-Chief starring Geena Davis as the first
female president. There's no question they are trying to make her
look like Hillary. Her husband is played by Hugh Hefner.
Monster-in-Law with Jane Fonda was pulled from two theaters
in Kentucky over her trip to Hanoi during the Vietnam War. She
hasn't changed. Jane Fonda was just photographed laughing it up
with Democrats and posing on top of an enemy filibuster.
Jack Nicklaus announced Tuesday the British Open will be the
last tournament of his career and he will retire at age sixty-
five. It's so sad. He had wanted to work for the rest of his life
and never retire but United Airlines wasn't hiring.
President Bush spoke at a GOP fundraiser at the Washington
Hyatt Tuesday. The dinner raised fifteen million dollars and
included boxing promoter Don King. President Bush is the only man
ever to shake hands with Don King and walk away with the money.
U.S. authorities detained Cuban exile leader Luis Posada
Tuesday who's accused of blowing up an airliner in Cuba. He
slipped into the U.S. from Mexico. You never hear about the guys
who suffer from seasickness and have to take the long way around.
Dan Rather won the Peabody Award Monday for exposing the
abuse at Abu Ghraib prison. The ceremony was held at a luncheon at
the Waldorf-Astoria. You know you are in New York City when people
can see those photographs and eat at the same time.
