• Al-Jazeera went off the air Wednesday, four years after Al Gore sold Current TV to the Arabs, giving them the cable channels to launch Al-Jazeera. Al Gore made five hundred million and the Arabs are off the air. We never knew Al Gore was the un-credited ghostwriter of The Art of the Deal.
• Southern California was walloped by high surf Thursday, forcing homeless and their dogs off the Santa Monica beach. It’s the one city in America where homeless are allowed to own dogs. It is nice for the homeless people, but the dogs have got to be wondering if this walk is ever going to end.
• The National Highway Transportation Safety Board warned Americans that one out of every four car accidents on New Year’s involves drinking and driving. The lesson is very clear. Be on the lookout for anybody who is not drinking because they cause three-fourths of all the car accidents.
• Hitler’s Final Day Minute by Minute is a new book detailing Hitler’s final day in the besieged bunker at the Berlin Chancellery. It includes an eyewitness account from his now ninety-four-year-old maid Rosa Miterer who’s still upset over the way Hitler ended his life. She’d just cleaned the walls.
