Why, Exactly, Do We Need A Woman President?

It appears that those who voted for Barack Obama for president simply because he is black are now urging we vote for Hillary Clinton simply because she is a woman. At a recent public event, Clinton asked her Democrat supporters, "I suppose it's fair to say: don't you someday want to see a woman president?" My answer to that ridiculous remark is-'that would depend on the woman.' That woman should be as qualified as any male candidate but if they believe that Hillary is eligible than that means they plan to vet her as poorly as they did Barack Obama.

The Democrat Party does not have any strong female candidates for president. With Hillary Clinton being scrutinized for potentially damaging emails that endangered our national security, the party officials are scrounging around for another female to carry the party's banner. So who do they pick? Elizabeth Warren, another very flawed candidate.

I find it hard to understand why it is so important that we choose a woman to lead this nation and I can say that because I am a woman and believe that it is not one's race or gender that should determine our choice for a leader. That being said, I'd vote for a woman in a heartbeat if she were Condoleezza Rice, Carly Foirina, Nikki Haley, Susanna Martinez, Sen. Kelly Ayotte, Michele Bachman and of course, the battered, bruised but can't be counted out-Sarah Palin. We need a tough leader like Margaret Thatcher.

Consider, however, the contrast between Lady Thatcher and the Democrat female possibles. Tom Rogan of CNN wrote about the Iron Lady after her death:

Thatcher was an icon for what politics should be about -- courage, spirit and the determination to change things for the better.

In pursuit of the defeat of what she saw as socialist totalitarianism, she made a close alliance with U.S. President Ronald Reagan and built a relationship with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, while still standing firm in opposition to the Soviet empire. Without question, she was one of America's closest and most important friends and was instrumental in winning the Cold War for the West.

One other point of contrast- Lady Thatcher escaped an assassination attempt that killed five others yet continued with a proposed conference the next day. Hillary Clinton lied about being under sniper fire in Bosnia and was busted by comedian Sinbad who was with her and said that never happened.

Camille Paglia, one of the only rational liberal Lesbians that conservatives agree with, recently was interviewed by Nick Gillespie on Reason TV and gave her opinion of Hillary Clinton:

"Hillary is a mess. And we're going to reward the presidency to a woman who's enabled the depredations and exploitation of women by that cornpone husband of hers? The way feminists have spoken makes us blind to Hillary's record of trashing [women]. They were going to try to destroy Monica Lewinsky. It's a scandal! Anyone who believes in sexual harassment guidelines should have seen that the disparity of power between Clinton and Monica Lewinsky was one of the most grotesque ever in the history of sex crime. He's a sex criminal! We're going to put that guy back in the White House? Hillary's ridden on his coattails. This is not a woman who has her own career, who's made her own career! The woman who failed the bar exam in Washington! The only reason she went to Arkansas and got a job in the Rose law firm was because her husband was a politician."

Ouch!

As for the Democrat's second choice, Warren, I'll let Jerry Della Famina handle that:

"Finally, speaking of nuts, we shall all pray for the health and well-being of Hillary Clinton. Because if she doesn't become the Democratic nominee for President in 2016, we will be faced with the candidacy of Elizabeth Warren, a socialist, liberal Democratic candidate who will make us wish that Barack Obama would seek a third term. Warren is a liar.

Warren had represented herself to both Penn and Harvard for federal reporting purposes as Cherokee-Native American. When confronted with this information, Warren admitted she had filled out forms listing herself as Native American, claiming she wanted to meet other Native Americans. Detailed genealogical investigation by a group of Cherokee genealogists showed that Warren had no Cherokee or other Native American ancestry. She's a liar, but if she runs, Democrat voters will make her our next President."

Mr. Della Famina, once a high-powered advertising executive and restaurateur, wrote on his blog, Jerry's Ink, that Democrats will only vote for Democrats no matter how incompetent and corrupt they are. Since there are more registered Democrats than there are Republicans, this does not bode well for our future recovery from the current administration.

As unfathomable as it seems, he may be right. No matter how incompetent and downright corrupt Hillary Clinton has proven to be on her own, she is still able to raise millions from Democrat supporters for a campaign she hasn't even declared. The few sane Democrats trying to save their party are trying to find candidates that at least have some semblance of competence. Alas, they happen to be male.

Former Maryland governor and owner of good abs, Martin O'Malley is swinging through Iowa and drawing standing O's from an enthusiastic crowd of 300 at a fundraiser.

Then there's Jim Webb, Bernie Sanders, Tim Kaine and uh, oh, is that Al Gore?

According to Hillary loyalist, James Carville, they're all wasting their time. Hillary will win because she's a woman and it's about time, right?

Let's hope all she wins is the Dem primary.
