Mark McGwire was summoned to testify before Congress today
about steroid use in Major League baseball and its long-term
effects on players. He's one of the lucky ones. Since leaving
baseball he's been able to find work as a wall in Israel.
The Episcopal Church in Kansas lost churches Monday over
toleration of gay marriage. The Eastern Seaboard is okay with it.
In the foyer of St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington is a
granite display of six commandments and four suggestions.
John Kerry vowed Thursday to fight oil drilling in Alaska.
He's polishing his liberal credentials for the next presidential
race. John Kerry is the candidate for Democrats who want to prove
to Betty Ford that they can stop after one Clinton.
Hillary Clinton angered Hispanics Monday by ripping illegal
immigration. The language barrier works against her with this
constituency. Hispanic audiences think Hillary has a prison record
every time she says she spent three years in Yale.
Robots, an animated slapstick comedy starring a bunch of
mechanical misfits, was Hollywood's number-one grossing movie this
past weekend. Robots took in thirty million dollars at the box
office. Al Gore said those votes should go to him.
China's Parliament voted Sunday to authorize force if Taiwan
declares itself an independent nation. The island is outnumbered
to say the least. There are so many people in China that a million
man march doesn't even need a parade permit.
