The Queen Mary anchored in Long Beach was packed with
sightseers on Thursday who came there to see the new Titanic
Artifact Exhibition. People are endlessly fascinated by doomed
expeditions. It is Al Gore's and John Kerry's only consolation.
Time magazine named Bill Clinton and former President Bush
its Partners of the Year for their teamwork on behalf of disaster
relief. They have developed a real friendship. They're so close
they are thinking about making a cowboy movie together.
Saddam Hussein's lawyer wrote a letter to President Bush
Thursday urging him to free the former dictator. He said it will
end America's problems in Iraq. The lawyer serves a dual role as
attorney for Saddam and test spokesman for Howard Dean.
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday he will tour
Red States next month to campaign for Democratic themes. He must
hurry. The Republicans are fast closing in on their goal of one
America made up of millionaires and illegal aliens.
The Pentagon drew public fire Thursday for paying a hundred
thousand dollars each for U.S. Marine jeeps that will tow French-
made field cannons into battle. They will be impossible to steer.
As the jeeps go forward the French cannons retreat. The White House supported the suspension of food shipments to North Korea on Thursday unless monitors go in to make sure the food goes to hungry people. Their economy is the exact opposite of America's. The only thing keeping North Korea's economy going is people going to Wal-Mart every two months and buying smaller sizes.
