Dearest Readers:

In this season of miracles, consider this: On Dec. 10th, JWR marked our FIFTEENTH YEAR of publication on ye olde internet!

This month, we became among the oldest surviving non-corporate sites on the web.

A miracle? Well, maybe not in the Biblical sense. But certainly one by modern standards. Consider how many other sites have come and gone. Ones that had millions invested in them have disappeared into the ether.

Yet JWR has survived another year and continues to significantly improve an already great resource.

You've come to rely on JWR to be an eloquent and elegant exponent of the values you hold dear. You turn to us for articles that are often at odds with conventional wisdom because they reveal "inconvenient truths." Every day, JWR inspires while it entertains. Emboldens at the same time it advocates for reason. You have gained from JWR.

The key to JWR's success? Providing our readers the world over with the best content that suits your sensibilities and needs. But we also rely on lots of help from Above and the assistance of those Down Here. 2013? Oy Gevalt --- THE CHANGES we have in store!

As I write to you, JWR is in the process of a total overhaul. We will soon be re-launching with a fresh, sharp design and a top-to-bottom technology update!

Highlights of our re-design & re-launch include:

  • Responsive, mobile/tablet friendly design.

  • WordPress backend means quicker & easier iterative updates, to follow!

  • Clean design, clearer hierarchies, easier to read, navigate, etc.

  • Live commenting on most articles (we'll enable commenting on all articles, once we have adequate support staff to moderate!).

  • RSS (which yes, we realize is perhaps a decade overdue).

  • Did we mention a much cleaner, nicer design?

  • Oh! A cleaner & much easier to scan-over design of the newsletter, too!

Cynics say that miracles never happen. Unlike Divine miracles, integral to modern day miracles are the human component. You count on JWR. Now we are counting on you. Oh: did I mention, re-examining our business model? Yes, it is with MUCH anticipation, that I am excited to turn over a heavy new leaf in both our advertising strategy, and opportunities ahead for direct partnerships with business sponsors. And, yes --- I am only one person.

In order to complete what we've started -- indeed, for us to continue to improve and serve you -- we need YOUR support!

And now, with the last moments of the end-of-year donating ticking down (and taxes likely going-up!), help yourself while helping JWR.
