Ford Motor Co. chairman William Ford stepped down last week as losses continued rising into the billions of dollars. Let the buyer beware. The situation is so dire that Ford just offered Quality a lucrative buyout package to resign as Job One.
Los Angeles was ringed by brushfires Saturday fueled by Santa Ana winds. The sun looked orange as ashes fell through thick clouds of smoke. The sky looked so scary that Al Gore ran out to L.A. to take pictures of it for his next slide show.
Iraq's prime minister begged the Sunnis and Shiites Sunday to cease fire for Ramadan. They spent the week in a gun battle over whether their holy month started on Saturday or Monday. One-third fought for Saturday, one-third fought for Monday, and one-third were burning the pope in effigy for calling Islam a violent religion. Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez told his country Sunday President Bush wants to kill him. He gloated that Bush is angry over the way he called him the devil at the U.N. Beginning comedians are always telling you how funny they were last week. Every weekday JewishWorldReview.com publishes what many in in the media and Washington consider "must-reading".
