By Argus Hamilton
Congress was asked Friday for two hundred billion dollars for New Orleans. One thing is certain. The Louisiana Purchase just moved ahead of Vietnam and Lebanon on the list of the worst things that France ever tricked us into taking off their hands.
Barry Bonds hit another homer into San Francisco Bay on Sunday to continue his comeback from a season-long injury. He's lucky to be alive. Doctors ordered him out of the line-up in March when tests revealed he had blood in his steroids stream.
Bill Clinton ripped the president Sunday for failing to evacuate New Orleans and spending too much money. It signals a new strategy against the Republicans on Capitol Hill. The Democrats plan to contend that monogamy causes budget deficits.
Prince Charles unveiled a Battle of Britain monument in London Sunday on the sixty-fifth anniversary of the RAF victory over the Luftwaffe. It's an important remembrance. Al-Qaeda must be reminded daily that they couldn't shine Hitler's boots.
