And now for the important news ....
By Argus Hamilton
Bob Denver, star of Gilligan's Island, died at age seventy
last Friday. Let the word go forth. The torch has been passed to a
new generation of Gilligans, who will go any place, bear any
burden and pay any price to avoid driving electric cars.
The Dallas Cowboys began their third season under Coach Bill
Parcells Sunday in San Diego. Under his leadership the Cowboys
play hard and get into no drug or alcohol or sex scandals. For tax
reasons they try to mirror whoever is president.
Bill Clinton and former President Bush started raising money
on Thursday for hurricane relief. They plan to work on it for
months. It's too late to save lives, but if they stay busy enough
it could save two thousand chunks of sod in the deep rough.
New Orleans continued pumping flood waters into Lake
Pontchartrain Friday. It poses a chemical and biological hazard.
Everyone's afraid if Barry Bonds took one drink of that flood
water in New Orleans he could destroy Tokyo with his bare hands.
Princess Diana was honored with a statue at Harrod's in
London Thursday. She's the direct descendent of thirteen lords
dating back to the Duke of Marlborough. There are more earls in
her family than there are in the beer line at the Winston Cup.
