How one man's investigation has blown the lid off of Saudi Arabia's partnership with Osama bin Laden
http://www.NewsAndOpinion.com |
A new story that reads more like a Tom
Clancy novel, Time magazine reports this week
on how one man's investigation has blown the
lid off of Saudi Arabia's partnership with Osama
bin Laden.
This week, TIME magazine
reports on Gerald Posner's book, "Why America Slept: The Failure to Prevent
9/11."
While the
book's title may borrow from a John
Kennedy work, "Why America
Slept" exposes intrigue, deception
and possibly murder inside the house
of Saudi. And proves once and for
all that Saudi Arabia gave Osama bin
Laden their money and their
protection.
The spy story began 17 months ago when Osama bin
Laden's right hand man, Abu Zubaydah, was arrested in
Pakistan. As Time reports, U.S. interrogators used Sodium
Pentothal to make Zubaydah talk. When questioning stalled,
the CIA flew the terrorist to an Afghan complex fitted out as
a fake Saudi jail chamber, where "two Arab-Americans,
now with special forces," pretending to be Saudi inquisitors,
used drugs and threats to scare him into more confessions.
But when Zubaydah was confronted by the false
Saudis, "his reaction was not fear, but utter relief." Happy
to see them, he reeled off telephone numbers for senior
members of the royal family who would, said Zubaydah,
"tell you what to do."
The numbers proved to be accurate. And Zubaydah
explained how the Saudis aided Osama bin Laden in return
for protection at home.
Soon after the CIA confronted the Saudis about their
find, the 3 Saudi princes named by Zubaydah died of
mysterious circumstances, all within a week of one another.
One 43-year-old prince had a mysterious heart attack, a
second prince died the next day in a high-speed car
accident, and the next week, the third prince died-get
this-of thirst.
Meanwhile, American leaders who continue believing
they can fight our War on Terror without seeing the Saudis
for who they really are, are compromising America's
security.
That's why it is important that the White House
releases the entire 9/11 report. Even the 26 pages that are
unflattering to their Saudi friends. It's long past time that the
Saudi royal family stops lying to the world, and instead
starts telling us the Real Deal.
