That was in our hands. It's pretty likely that the uncertainty surrounding the raising of the debt ceiling for both businesses and consumers has been unsettling and just one more impediment to the full recovery that we need and it's something we could have avoided entirely."             — Barack Obama To use a word everyone at this site will understand, one has to marvel at the unmitigated chutzpah of this president. Or, to use to a more accurate term, Crisis-Manufacturer-in-Chief. If Mr. Obama wants to talk about manufactured crises, this writer is more than glad to oblige him: • Stimulus spending. Americans were told that if this administration couldn't spend more than $800 billion "stimulating" the economy would continue to be embroiled in an economic "crisis" and unemployment would rise over 8 percent. It's at 9.2 percent, job creation is at a standstill, manufacturing output is at it most anemic point in more than two years, consumer spending is down, and MSNBC, head cheerleader of Obama's media cheerleading squad, says the double-dip recession is already dipping. The only thing other than crises that this administration is manufacturing in b.s. — and three million jobs "created or saved" goes right to the top of the pile. • Obamacare. The most despised piece of legislation enacted in years, and ostensibly the only thing that could prevent a healthcare "crisis." The apex of Democrat ruling class arrogance, epitomized by Nancy Pelosi, who told America, "We have to pass the bill so you can find out what's in it." And the same bunch currently jawboning about the lack bipartisanship coming from the Tea Partiers, passed the bill — on Christmas Eve, no less — without single Republican vote. Now 1400 different entities are "passing" on it as well, including some who supported it. The criteria for getting a "waiver" from Obamacare? The best kept secret in Washington, D.C. This environmental "crisis" precipitated massive job losses in the oil industry, when the Obama administration placed a five year moratorium on offshore drilling. The ban was lifted by court order, but Obama's hack Department of Interior head, Ken Salazar, ignored that order and imposed a new one. That earned him a contempt of court citation from Louisiana Federal Judge Martin Feldman. Unfortunately the damage was done. Many of the offshore oil rigs left the Gulf of Mexico for Brazil. Not to worry, though. Obama told Brazil we will be one their "best customers." • Libya. A humanitarian "crisis" that was going to take "days, not weeks" to solve. Five months later, and long past the limitations allowed by the War Powers Act of 1973 this president completely ignored, Mr. Obama is still "leading from behind." The "good guys" in this drama? Libyan rebel military commander General Abdel Fattah Younes and two aides were killed last week — by other rebels. Gaddafi? Making an utter mockery of NATO "power." • The Fast and Furious Gun running scandal. The most egregious "manufactured crisis" fomented by this administration to date. Straw buyers, some of whom were FBI informants, were allowed to purchase thousands of weapons and "walk" them to drug cartel members in Mexico. Two federal agents were killed and more than 150 Mexican citizens have been shot by guns traced to this operation. Many Americans are firmly convinced this administration was attempting to use Fast and Furious as an impetus for imposing gun restrictions on law-abiding Americans. Many Americans are probably right, but it's going to take some time to find out: Eric Holder's Justice Department is doing everything they can to stonewall a Congressional investigation. The O-media is doing their best to ignore it. Two dead federal agents won't allow it to happen. As for debt ceiling debate, the only ones who consider it a "manufactured crisis" are the the most fiscally reckless administration in the history of the nation, along with its political and media enablers. Tea Partiers, who have been called "extremists" "terrorists," "jihadists," and people on a "suicide mission" — by the very same hypocrites who demanded "civility" in the wake of the Gabrielle Giffords shooting — were elected in 2010 precisely to put the brakes on the fiscal madness. The president, speaking with the kind of imperious contempt that is his trademark, apparently considers that election a "manufactured crisis."
