Free the Dog!
http://www.NewsAndOpinion.com |
A bounty hunter brings a serial rapist to justice in Mexico. The Mexican government returns the favor by throwing the American hero in jail.
Meanwhile, the FBI, who couldn't track down the rapist itself, stands by and does nothing while the American hero sits in a Mexican jail cell. It's Mexican hypocrisy at its worst.
DUANE "DOG" CHAPMAN tracked down and busted convicted multimillionaire rapist, Andrew Luster, who was previously sentenced to 124 years in jail for drugging young women, raping them, and filming his abusive criminal acts. Luster fled the country and found safe haven in Mexico. That is until the man who calls himself "Dog," because it's "god" spelled backwards, publicly vowed to track the sleaze bag down and bring him to justice.
And that's exactly what Dog Chapman did; he tracked the rapist down on June 18th and turned him over to police. Two hours later, the Mexican government thanked Chapman for taking a dangerous rapist off their streets by throwing Chapman in jail. Their claim? Chapman himself broke the law.
I suppose we can all wish the Mexican government was as dedicated to law and order when it came to American immigration laws, but no such luck. Instead, the Mexican government issues ID cards for illegal immigrants so they can stay in the United States, make a mockery of our immigration system, and take jobs from American citizens and legal immigrants.
It should make Americans hot under the collar that Mexican politicians help their citizens break our laws, while jailing an American who made their country safer and brought a dangerous rapist to justice.
As for the FBI's position that Dog should be impounded for eight years because he broke the law, give me a break. They are obviously still ticked off that a shaggy-haired bounty hunter named Dog could track down a convict that eluded their capture for so long.
It's time the Mexican government free Mr. Chapman, return him to the United States, and start proving to us that they actually care about enforcing laws by reforming their ID program for illegal immigrants.
It's time to free the Dog!
