Hate giving out personal information just to read a news article or look through a Web site? Then try using BugMeNot.com, a database of user names and passwords for more than 160,000 sites. This will only work for sites with free content.
1. Go to BugMeNot.com
2. Enter the address of the site you are trying to access into the search box and click "Get Logins."
3. Look through the results and choose a user name and password with a high success rate.
4. Go back to the site you want to access and put in the user name and password. If they work, start surfing without having to worry about getting spam or unsolicited offers. If they don't work, try a different user name and password from the list.
5. Go back to BugMeNot and tell the site whether the user name and password worked. This will help other people in the future.
If BugMeNot does not have information for the site you want to access, you can create a user name and password to submit to BugMeNot. Just make sure you don't use your personal information.
