And now for the important news ....
By Argus Hamilton
The House of Representatives passed a bill Friday extending
middle-class tax breaks. It gives taxpayers a choice. You can
either have your income tax refund check mailed to your home or
you can have it sent directly to your gasoline station.
Senator Ted Kennedy confirmed Monday that his Cessna was
struck by lightning over Massachusetts late Saturday night. The
senator was on his way home to Cape Cod. Democrats believe there's
no place like home, after all the other places close.
Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney said Tuesday rising
floodwaters in Boston and upstate are biblical. He said he took
every precaution to ensure there's no looting. All direct flights
from Los Angeles and New Orleans have been canceled.
The Los Angeles Police Department was kept on probation
Monday by a federal judge for strong-arming a Mexican drug gang
six years ago. The police were badly outsmarted. Every time the
cops planted evidence the Mexicans would just harvest it.
Iraqi leaders said Monday they hope to have a government in place and agreed upon by all three ethnic groups ahead of their upcoming national vacation month. Iraqis by tradition don't work in June. In that way they're like the New York Knicks.
