The Real Deal on Hillary Clinton
http://www.NewsAndOpinion.com | Senator Hillary Clinton is back in the news again - and that's good news for Republicans.
New Yorks junior senator, Hillary Clinton, came out swinging last night, going after the President of the United States at a Democratic fundraiser in Connecticut. In what could only be seen as a preview of the Democrats 2004 strategy, Mrs. Clinton bashed Mr. Bush for devising the worst economic policy since Herbert Hoover. Pointing a finger at President Bush is sure to get the natives rowdy in Democratic strongholds. But as my mother always said, When you point a finger at someone, you have four more pointing back at you. Thats bad news for Mrs. Clinton.
The first and ugliest finger pointing back at Hillary is her health care debacle. Certainly the junior senator doesnt expect us to forget that she and her husband tried to socialize 1/7 of the economy, while taking away our right to visit the doctor of our choice. Or does she? The second pointed finger directed back to Hillary is the Clintons 1993 tax increase. After promising to cut middle-class taxes in 1992, the Clintons got elected, moved into the White House, and rammed through the largest tax increase in American history. That was one of the main reasons I ran for Congress. The third finger had to do with the Clintons shameful handling of the deficit crisis. First they took tax increases over spending cuts. And then they did everything in their power to derail Congressional efforts to balance the budget. Bill Clinton finally came on board, reluctantly, but only after he realized he couldnt do anything to stop it. And sadly, one day after Wall Street bigwigs were hit with a $1.4 billion fine, the fourth finger pointing Hillarys way has to do with the untidy fact that much of the so-called Clinton recovery was built on scandals, lies and shady accounting in Enron, Merrill Lynch, Global Crossing, Salomon Smith Barney, WorldCom, Arthur Andersen and hundreds of other corrupt corporate board rooms. Lets face it. The Clintons led the dance card in the go-go 90s. And most Americans put up with their lies because the economy seemed to be growing. But it was an economy built on lies. Most Americans didnt realize that until it was too late. So when Hillary Clinton points a finger at President Bush for his handling of the economy, and says we should trust the Democrats instead, all that most us can see pointing back at us are higher taxes, more spending, socialized health care and corporate scandals.
As for me, Ill take Herbert Hoover over Hillary Clinton any day of the week. And thats The Real Deal.
