Don Imus was suspended for two weeks Monday to try to calm the uproar over the racially insensitive remarks he made on his radio show. We haven't heard the end of this. Don Imus just got a ten million dollar offer from Hostess to endorse Ho Ho's.
The Sopranos suffered lower ratings in its season opener on HBO on Sunday. The show lost over two million viewers. This season, the first guy Tony kills is the writer who came up with the idea of a gay mobster in last season's production meeting.
The National Football League suspended Pacman Jones for one year Tuesday. It's over his connections to a string of shootings and for nightclub brawling and for threatening violence against women. Phil Spector just offered him a recording contract.
Jackie Robinson will be honored by baseball Monday, sixty years after his first major league game. It's a different era today. The New York Mets want to name their new stadium after Jackie Robinson, but his widow can only come up with two million dollars a year.
Hillary Clinton visited a veteran's hospital in Syracuse Tuesday and promised better care for wounded veterans. She's wounded her share. Whenever the Commander-in-Chief used to walk into the Rose Garden with a black eye, you knew he was having a good week.
John Kerry and GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich had a televised debate Tuesday over the best way to fight global warming. It was inevitable. Once you get to a certain stage in your career you just start campaigning openly for the Oscar. NASA said Tuesday it will have to delay the next Space Shuttle launch in order to fix the fuel tank. It was damaged by a Florida hail storm. The pock-marked spacecraft took quite a pounding and that was just from Lisa Nowak's fist on the door.
