The European Union met in Brussels Monday to discuss a continent-wide way of dealing with bird flu. They proposed poultry vaccinations for every chicken in Europe. The plan fell apart when the French cabinet refused to roll up their sleeves.

Italian cops raided the Olympic village Sunday and busted the Austrians for possession of syringes, drugs and blood transfusion equipment. It was all innocent. It's the national pastime in Austria to try to build a Schwarzenegger from scratch.
