The News in Zingers

http://www.JewishWorldReview.com | Alabama won its third national title in four years routing Notre Dame last week. The other top college programs seethed. In the last two elections Barack Obama lost every county in Oklahoma in no small part because his name sounds way too much like Go Bama.

The Border Patrol was ripped in a House report saying it only catches forty percent of illegal aliens who enter the U.S. from Mexico. They mostly come in through Arizona. California was able to build a border wall a few years ago using just the Mexicans who were north of it.

The Pentagon said the U.S. will leave a few thousand troops in Afghanistan next year after the pullout to monitor al-Qaeda. It's safer than a lot of places. More and more U.S. teenagers are volunteering for duty in Afghanistan to get out of having to go to middle school.

Joe Biden met with NRA officials Thursday to try to find at least common ground on gun control. Force is the only language that homicidal maniacs understand. If we can't arm teachers, at least we could guard every school entrance with a wax dummy of Anthony Hopkins.

Bill Clinton weighed in on gun control Thursday, telling a Las Vegas audience that high capacity magazines are nuts. He said that nobody needs a hundred bullets. He grew up in Hot Springs, where mobsters who needed a hundred bullets weren't employed for long.

Governor Jerry Brown noted Monday that California prisoners get better health and dental care while incarcerated than outside. It's true. Last year three guys decided to rob a bank and then surrender just to get their teeth straightened and their hernias fixed.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa denied reports he and Charlie Sheen partied with chicks in Mexico last week. No one knows why he would deny it. If Mayor Villaraigosa thinks he's too good to socialize with the regular people of Los Angeles, maybe it's time for him to leave public life.

President Obama screened NBC's new sitcom 1600 Penn Tuesday at the White House with the TV show's executive producer. For a president to be a great comic character, he would have to be pompous, arrogant and convinced he's right about everything. Barack Obama liked the show so much he gave the producer his purple ermine robe to wear home.
