The News in Zingers
Mitt Romney said Tuesday he pays a fifteen percent tax rate since his income is from dividends. It's investment income from Bain Capital. Mitt Romney told a crowd last week he's half-Mexican so it should be no surprise he is excellent at trimming hedge funds.
President Obama canceled the Keystone oil pipeline project running from Canada to Texas Wednesday. The president said he will not be pressured. The Republicans had given him a deadline to approve the project by Washington's Birthday, and no Democrat will be held to a deadline on the birthday of a slave owner in the middle of Black History Month.
Michelle Obama enjoyed an eighty-one dollar steak and a ten-dollar dessert for her birthday at BLT's in Washington. It's no way to stay in power. Queen Elizabeth is walking around the palace turning off light switches to save money during the recession, and eighty percent of Americans are willing to consider her birth certificate American enough.
NBC debuted a women's comedy night on Wednesday with sitcoms starring Whitney Cummings and Chelsea Handler. The network is desperate for ratings. It's been so bad at NBC that last night the NBC Peacock walked into Kentucky Fried Chicken and surrendered.
Charlie Sheen was happy to report in an interview Wednesday that he's regained the sanity he admits he lost last year. We'll have to see. Under English common law, the decision as to who is sane and who is insane is generally made by the person with the key.
Jimmy Carter accused Newt Gingrich of using veiled racism in calling Barack Obama the Food Stamp President. He's furious. It was bad enough for Carter that he lost the title of Worst President in History but now he's losing the title of the Food Stamp President, too.
